Yaakov Chaim Olevitch

R' Yacov Chaim Olevitch grew up in St. Louis Missouri. For high school, he attended the highly regarded Yeshivas Bais Moshe [Scranton Yeshiva] and continued his Torah studies in its Bais Medrash program for close to five years. He joined Ateres Ami not long after its inception and has been a member of Kollel for eight years.

In his studies with the Kollel, R' Yacov Chaim adopts a deliberate approach to gemara learning, emphasizing the importance of understanding texts thoroughly, by working through each step of the discussion He enjoys writing summaries and detailed write-ups of his learning and aims to help others grasp the basics of Torah study. 

R' Yacov Chaim teaches our beginner Mishnah class at 6:00 a.m, and is known for his patience and consistent reviews to ensure that everyone has the information just so. 

His wife Esther, a native Chicagoan, is a beloved teacher at Bais Yaakov High School.
