Elchonon Wagenheim

Avreich/Mentor

Rabbi Elchonon Wagenheim's Torah journey began in Sydney, Australia, where he was first introduced to the beauty of Torah during high school. After finishing law school, R’ Elchonon went on to develop his Torah education in esteemed institutions like Yeshivas Mir. After 7 years of learning in Eretz Yisrael, R’ Elchonon returned to Australia and joined the Melbourne Community Kollel for 8 years.

There, he was integrally involved in the community. He ran the night seder chabura and spearheaded various programs for the community. While in Melbourne he received his semicha in Hilchos Niddah, and he honed his skills in preparing and delivering shiurim.

His primary focus is on in-depth Talmudic study, complemented by a strong commitment to the learning of mussar, as he believes that character refinement is a vital element of avodas Hashem. R’ Elchonon’s teaching philosophy centers on patience and collaborative effort between teacher and student, fostering an environment conducive to growth for all levels of learners and aiming to make Torah accessible and meaningful.

R’ Elchonon teaches our early morning intermediate Gemara group and as our most senior avreich, is frequently consulted by the students (and avreichim) for clarification in their studies.

He lives shouting distance from the Kollel with his wife Gavi and their 5 children.
